【Properties】This product is a brownish-black solid block or powder; it has a faint peculiar odor and a persistent peculiar sweet taste.
【Inspection】Moisture: Not more than 10%; Insoluble matter in water: Residue left after evaporation shall not exceed 5.0%; Total ash: Not more than 12.0%.
【Microbial Limit】Total aerobic bacteria count ≤ 1000 cfu/g; total mold and yeast count ≤ 100 cfu/g; Escherichia coli: no microorganisms shall be detected per 1g.
【Content determination】This product, calculated on the basis of the dried product, shall contain not less than 0.5% of glycyrrhizin (C21H22O9) and not less than 7.0% of glycyrrhizic acid (C42H62O16).
【Application fields】It is mainly used in the pharmaceutical field, and also in the fields of food, tobacco, daily chemical industry, etc.
