It is the only designated enterprise in China for the production of raw materials of opiate anesthetic drugs. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gansu State Farms Group Co., Ltd., it is responsible for the processing, production and supply guarantee of upstream raw materials and raw drugs of national anesthetic drugs.
Gansu State Farms Medical Alkaloids Factory Co., Ltd. focuses on the specialized market of anesthetic and analgesic raw materials, raw drugs and their derivative pharmaceutical intermediates. It is committed to becoming a leading pharmaceutical enterprise in the field of anesthetic and analgesic drugs in China and a pioneer in the specialized fields of the medical and health industry. It also synchronously plans for traditional Chinese medicine and the health industry. The company has fixed assets of 720 million yuan and has established four provincial-level raw drug engineering and technology research centers. Its main products include primary raw materials for anesthetic drugs such as CPS, thebaine, morphine alkaloid, oxycodone hydrochloride, naloxone hydrochloride, and traditional Chinese medicine plant extracts such as licorice extract and licorice fluid extract. The production of anesthetic drugs is carried out in accordance with the national directive plan, and the company is the leading enterprise in the special drug industry of Gansu Agricultural Reclamation. Since 2001, the security around the factory and the escort of products have been undertaken by the armed police force dispatched by the state.
